We had a very strange, yet enjoyable season this summer! We started out hot…7-3, and found ourselves in first place. Then we went into a tail-spin with injuries, vacations and guys playing out of position and promptly went on to a seven game losing skid. But the guys never gave up or complained, I think because we knew what we were capable of and the fact that we were still mathematically alive.

The winner of our last regular season game would get the fourth and final seed for the playoffs. We came out with all the guys back and reasonably healthy and looked like our former selves again. We got the ‘W’ after a long four-week drought. Guys were diving for everything, running down bloopers in the outfield and getting key hits along with our good pitching and great defense. It carried over as we played a tough opponent and pulled out an 8-6 squeaker. In the championship game we eeked out a 3-2 thriller against the Orioles, the team that knocked us out last season.

We have a really great bunch of guys, and we wish to thank Sacto and MSBL National for their tireless efforts to provide a first-class operation!
