The White Sox are in their fourth season here in the Central Arkansas MSBL and we’ve been fortunate to be playing in the final Championship game four years in a row. This was our third championship win in that span.
We had a really wet summer here in Arkansas which basically rained out a third of our regular season games. However, once we were able to develop our rhythm, we played good White Sox baseball. As with each championship team, this year was no different in our approach to each game. We pride ourselves on deep pitching, aggressive hitting, and fundamental defense. Our starter, Stephen Simon, had great command of his pitches all night and kept theCardinals’ timing off, only rendering one run in the final inning. He mixed his fastball and off-speed pitches effectively for a complete game victory. Our hitters, led by the talented Zach Davis, were merciless on their pitching. Hard hitting and timely hitting throughout our entire lineup helped us a 9-1 victory in game three of the best two of three series.
This not only was our most talented team in my four years of managing but we had better chemistry, therefore making my job far too easy.
