The Red Sox beat the Cubs 6-1 in the finals of the 19-over playoffs and capped an undefeated season as well as their third championship in a row. The Cubs pitcher Eric Valdez had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning before the Red Sox woke up. This was a real battle between Valdez and Red Sox pitcher Tim Jonson.
