In the 2014 best of three championship series of the Community Baseball League, located in the North Florida-South Georgia region, the Madison Braves squared off against the Tallahassee Rays and the Braves came out victorious.

In the first game, Braves starting pitcher Damon Brewer, former San Francisco Giants pitcher, went six innings and gained control of game with eight strikeouts while holding the Rays to only two runs. Patrick Jernigan came in for relief and only allowed one final third run from the Rays. The Braves offense started early, going up in the first inning by three runs. Final score was 5-3 BRAVES!

In the second game the Braves started Damon Brewer again and he delivered a total of nine strikeouts through seven innings. The Braves again brought in the game’s relief pitcher Patrick Jernigan and even though he shut the Rays down in the last remaining few innings, they had already scored two unearned runs that got the Rays the victory 2-0

In the third and final game of the Championship series, the Braves started Patrick Jernigan, who has been successful all season with wins for the Braves pitching while averaging 13 strikeouts per game!

The Braves delivered first with two runs in the first inning, immediately taking control of the game. The Rays would answer back in the second inning with two runs to tie the game. The Braves continued the lead in the bottom of the second on a RBI double from catcher Clay Tomlinson, scoring Patrick Jernigan. A hit-by-pitch allowed runner Austin Tryon from the Rays on base in the fourth inning and then a hit by Tyler Sellers scored the runner, bringing the game back to a tie ball game. The Braves went up again and continued to produce runs by hits and a knockout punch: a triple by Garrett Laseter. That delivered the heartbeat and temple of the game for the Braves and after battling runs through the game, the final score of 9-6 gave the Braves the Championship in Madison, Florida!
