Special World Series Rules for 70+, 73+, 75+, and 80+ Divisions
1. No Stealing
a. Runners may still take a lead EXCEPT FOR 75+ AND 80+ Divisions
b. Base Runners cannot break for the next base until either the batter hits the
ball, a walk or a wild pitch as detailed below for 70+.
c. If a pitcher or catcher attempts a pickoff, the runner MUST return to the
previously occupied base before attempting to advance.
d. For 70+ Only: If a wild pitch/passed ball goes out of the imaginary home
plate circle, runners can advance (including to home) one base only without
catcher chasing the ball. If a runner(s) advances a base and the ball does
NOT go out of the imaginary home plate circle, the runner(s) will be returned
to their original base.
e. For 70+ Only: If a pitcher fails to go in a stretch position with a runner(s) on
base and pitches with a full windup, the runner can advance (steal).
2. No Hit and Run allowed
3. One 9 inning game per day (Unless uneven amount of teams in the Division which
necessitate a DH. If a team plays a DH, that team will have a BYE the following
day.
4. 5 games in 5 days
5. For any hit that is fielded by a player in the outfield positions, the batter cannot be
thrown out at first. The outfielders can throw out base runners that are going to
second, third or home but not first. Outfielders MUST be on the outfield grass to
begin each play.
6. With a 3-2 count on the batter and 2 outs, all “forced” runners can break on the start
of the pitching motion by the pitcher
7. For 73+, 75+ & 80 Only: Runners can only advance on a hit ball or on the delivery if
“forced” with a 3-2 count and 2 outs. They may not advance on a passed ball/wild
pitch or a dropped 3rd strike, unless there are 2 outs.
8. SHARED BATTER/RUNNER ONLY
a. We will use “Shared” A/B Batter Positions. The manager uses two players for
one batting position and during the game the manager decides who bats
each time the batting position comes up. He can then use the other player to
run if he chooses to do so. If the manager runs for the shared batter, the
runner MUST bat the next time this spot comes up in the lineup. There is no
limit to the number of shared line-up potions. Any player sharing a batting
order position is locked in that position for the duration of the game and
cannot be used in any other batting order position.
9. All catchers MUST take a runner if they are on base with 2 outs. If he is already in
a shared batting position in the lineup, the shared runner will replace him. If the
catcher is not in a shared batting position in the lineup, the last actual out will
replace him.
