MSBL/MABL Player of the Week: Joel Miner, Tri-Valley MSBL

‘Miner Throws 13 innings, Fans 16, Earns Complete Game Victory’

The playoffs just started in the Tri Valley MSBL this past weekend, and the first-place Cardinals from the 40+ division sent Joel Miner to the mound for game one. Joel was dealing that day, working his fastball, slider, curve, and changeup to near perfection.

As luck would have it, the Cardinals’ opponents, the Brewers, had a pitcher of their own throwing just as well. Locked into a pitcher’s duel, the game was tied 2-2 through nine and went to extra innings. Both starters continued, as Joel and the Cardinals were victorious, walking it off in the 13th inning.

Miner pitched all 13 innings for the Cardinals, allowing just two unearned runs on five hits and two walks, one intentional.

Tri Valley Baseball Logo in a CircleJoel tallied 16 strikeouts for the game. Miner and teammate Andre White, who collected the walkoff hit, earned the coveted KCPOG award for the Cardinals that day.

The Cardinals have the #1 seed and look to take home another TVMSBL Championship next weekend, adding to their long list of league titles under manager Al “Buck” Gravencamp.
