MSBL First Responder: Scott Martin, Physician’s Assistant and SoCal MSBL Member

Submitted by Jef Brown, SoCal MSBL League President

Scott Martin is a Physician’s Assistant at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana in their Emergency Medicine division. He is also a Secretary for the California Academy of PAs. He has dedicated his life to the safety and well-being of others.

During this pandemic, he has put out videos all over social media explaining the importance of social distancing as well as masking up when going out in public. He has seen the devastating affects this disease is having on people and is doing his utmost to deliver information to the public. Despite all of this chaos and uncertainty, he still goes into work every day doing whatever he can to help people in need.

When Scott is not working in the ER, he is enjoying life with his wife and three sons. He, like many other MSBL players, are eagerly awaiting playing baseball again. He has been a part of the SOCAL MSBL for many years. He first starting playing on a squad in 2013. In 2015, Scott helped co-manage his own team. Alongside his brother in law, they went through the ups and downs of running a team. Building upon each season, Scott helped lead the SOCAL Cubs to a league championship in 2018.

Scott is a great physician’s assistant, but he is an even better baseball player. He can’t wait to get back on the field, and put this pandemic behind him.
