Mike Lindberg Logs Career Day at Puget Sound Senior Baseball League
Submitted by Tom Evans Krause, PSSBL League President
Once in a great while, a PSSBL player has a career day. That was the case recently for Mike Lindberg. Lindberg, who has been a member of the PSSBL since 2012 had the kind of day most ballplayers only dream of.
Lindberg, who plays in several divisions including Everest, Rainier, and Adirondack, recently hit for the cycle. Not only that but as his fifth hit of the day, racked up a second triple, a rarity at any level of baseball. That’s right. In the same game Lindberg hit a single, double, home run and not one, but two triples versus the Wizards at Bellevue College.
This has happened only one time at the major league level: https://www.nonohitters.com/2016/09/07/evers-hits-majors-only-two-triple-cycle-66-years-ago-today/
Lindberg continues to excel at the highest level with the 50+ Everest Steelheads, 60+ Rainier Pilots, and 60+ Adirondack Osprey, posting big offensive numbers. In addition to being a high-level shortstop defender, he sports an 16-1 record on the mound for his several teams in 2021.
