MABL/MSBL ‘Player of the Week’ Nominee: Tyler Jacobsen, Tucson MSBL

By Steve LaMontia, Director of Communications

Dylan Shorthouse is the manager of the 3-1, 25+ Misfits from the Tucson MSBL.  He let us know that one of his players deserved our newly implemented 2024 ‘Players of the Week’ honors.  They are currently on a three-game winning streak after dropping their opener.

“Greetings from Tucson, Arizona! I am the manager of a team called the Misfits in the 25+ division of the Tucson MSBL. My Player of the Week nominee is Tyler Jacobsen.

In a game that we won against the Braves 12-8, Tyler had a fantastic stat line with three doubles, five RBI, and two runs scored.  His third double of the day put us ahead of the Braves for good in the seventh inning.

Not only that, but he pitched three solid innings, striking out four and grabbing the save. Without his efforts that day we would have had a rough time beating a solid Braves team.”

On the season, Tyler is batting .615 and is 2-1 on the bump with a 5.56 ERA in 11.1 innings, while striking out 17 and walking only one!
