MABL/MSBL Player of the Week: Andrew Casey, Connecticut North MSBL

Our goal at MSBL is to recognize any outstanding efforts from across the country.  Our ‘Players of the Week’ stories are not designed to honor just one person per week, but multiple players if warranted.  We have plenty of space so keep them coming!  Please forward any recommendations to me at msbllamontia@aol.com.

Shaun Wyman is the manager of the 25-over Southington Navigators of the Connecticut North MSBL.  Shaun let us know that one of his players recently posted a great game in the league.

“Our shortstop Andrew Casey went 2 for 3 with a walk, scored three runs, and drove in three, including a bases-clearing double to break open the game.  Our 8-3 win over the Collinsville Riverrats at historic Muzzy Field moved us to 8-1 on the season.

Andrew also stole two bases in the game to add to his league-leading seven stolen bases on the season.

It is always a thrill to play at Muzzy Field.  It has been around for more than a century. Babe Ruth played there and the Bristol Red Sox played there.  It’s a historic place!”
