By Steve LaMontia, Director of Communications
The Louisville Slugger Warriors Amputee Baseball Team has become a staple at MSBL national tournaments, including very impressive showings at recent MSBL World Series’ in Arizona. David Van Sleet is the general manager of the team. David and the Warriors recently sought to help some Florida seniors as they have been deprived of their very special senior year festivities due to the coronavirus pandemic.
David sponsored two seniors recently and helped them to end their senior year on a high note.
“It’s brought back a few memories for me and in fact I will be wearing my 70’s tuxedo to mark the occasion,” explained ‘Disco Dave’ Van Sleet.’
“Yes, I can still fit in it despite it being a bit snug, but it is all for a good cause. Both young ladies are going to college on DI college softball scholarships, one to Stetson University in Florida and one to Furman University in South Carolina. We had a a lot of fun planning this for them.”
Below is the original press release from May explaining what David and the Warriors did to help Ashlee Lykins and Lauren Hobbs make the best out of a difficult senior year.
