Jim Kearschner Logs 400th Win at 2021 MSBL Holiday Classic as Member of Boston Wolfpack
By Steve LaMontia, Director of Communications
Jim Kearschner, while pitching for his Boston Wolfpack was credited with recorded win #400 of his MSBL career at the Holiday Classic in Viera, Florida January 18, 2021. The win was a complete game victory against a very talented All- American Baseball Academy in game two of the 54+ National division Championship Series.
Jim started playing adult baseball in 1991 in the St. Petersburg MSBL for the St. Pete Hurricanes six years after his last college baseball game at Southeastern Louisiana University. The Hurricanes kept very detailed statistics from the beginning.
“It was cool to be able to see where we matched up with our teammates,” said Kearschner. “We had a friendly competition trying to keep up with each other’s performances.”
Jim, however, never thought he’d still be pitching in 2021. He credits his number of wins to reach this milestone of 400 victories with just 80 losses to the tremendously gifted teammates over the years as well as the many opponents challenging him at every at bat.
“I’d like to thank them all but there are way too many to mention here. Each and every one, in their own way, pushed me to be the best I could be. Also, I want to extend a big thank you to my coaches over the years that had confidence enough in me to let me pitch for their teams. I wouldn’t be here today without all of you, my teammates and the opposing players and coaches.”
Jim was quick to point out that none of this could have been possible without the support of his wonderful wife, Linda and two children, Jordan and Jacob.
