Greater Toronto Area All-Stars Capture First Annual Cataract City Fall Classic

Submitted by Jim Carr, Tournament Director

We are delighted to announce that the first annual Cataract City Fall Classic (“CCFC”) tournament was held in Niagara Falls, NY September 23rd and 24th and was a huge success. The newly formed tournament secured 10 teams with player attendance from all over New York, Southern Ontario and North Carolina.

The tournament utilized several area fields, including the historic Sal Maglie Stadium, which has been a staple for area baseball including Little League, collegiate, and professional baseball, since 1939. The Incredible mid 80’s September weather set the stage for a competitive and fun tournament!

The Greater Toronto Area All-Stars defeated Team New Era in a hard fought, back and forth contest, capturing the tournament championship and therefore securing a 2018 tournament bid.

The 2018 Cataract City Fall Classic is scheduled to take place September 22nd & 23rd. Given the tournament’s success and increased interest, we are looking to expand our total number of tournament teams in 2018. Tournament slots are beginning to fill, so please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, future tournament suggestions or to reserve a 2018 team (now taking deposits). All interested teams may contact me at:
