Father and Son Founder Val Lewis Shares His Ring/Award Box
By Steve LaMontia, Director of Communications
I recently threw out a request for who may have accumulated the most MSBL World Series rings and have published a couple of my findings. I just received a nice note from the father and originator of the MSBL Father/Son division and longtime Sacramento MSBL member, Val Lewis. Val seems to have quite an accumulation of hardware representing many years in the dirt.
“I’ve attached a photo of my “ring/award box”. Since my 75+ Sacramento Solons team won the inaugural championship last week, my 2021 ring has been ordered but is not shown.
I have seven rings on the left side of the box, seven rings on the right side of the box, and two necklaces for my wife in lieu of ordering rings twice. They are hanging next to the rings. That is a total of 17 World Series rings counting this year.
The gold medal in the box is the 1998 Nike World Games Baseball medal that our team won at the 40+ championship in Oregon…great team!
I also have displayed my Sacramento MSBL Hall-of-Fame pin and below is my SMSBL Hall-of-Fame ring.”
Thanks for allowing me to share my long history with everyone!
