Duke City Angels Win the Rocky Mountain Baseball Bash National Division Championship by Defeating the Vipers

July 12, 2026…The Vipers had trouble keeping up with Duke City Angels in a 9-3 loss on Sunday at FFCHS BLUE.
The Vipers were the first to get on the board in the first when Jared Booth drew a walk, scoring one run. Duke City Angels jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Nate Ross singled, scoring one run, Maurice La Fon singled, scoring two runs, and Scott Ostrowsky drew a walk, scoring one run.
Duke City Angels added one run in the second. Maurice La Fon walked, making the score 5-1. A walk by Elijah Pearlman extended the Duke City Angels lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the third inning.
Isaac Toledo earned the win for Duke City Angels. The hurler surrendered three hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Andrew Bruntz pitched five and one-third innings in relief for Vipers. The righty gave up three hits and three runs (zero earned) while, striking out three and walking three.
Nolan Adamski took the loss for Vipers. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking six. Jaret Granger earned the save.
Andrew Bruntz led the team with one run batted in. Tyler Biltimier, Shai James, Evan Ford, and Tyler Matheny each collected one hit for Vipers.
Duke City Angels tallied 10 hits in the game. Treston Shallenberger and Nate Ross were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Duke City Angels. Maurice La Fon went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in.
Duke City Angels had patience at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Daniel Gonzalez, Scott Ostrowsky, and Treston Shallenberger led the team with two walks each.
Benito Martinez was selected as the team MVP in his first MSBL tournament hitting .538 with three quality at bats, seven hits, 2B, 3B, and an RBI.
