Detroit Tiger Player and Coach and Louisville Slugger Warriors Amputee Baseball Team Coach Kimera Bartee Dies at age 49

A message from David Van Sleet, General Manager of Louisville Slugger Warriors Amputee Baseball Team:

“It is with great sadness to hear of the recent passing of former MLB Player and Coach Kimera Bartee at such a young age.  Kimera was an extremely close friend, teammate, and roommate of our LS Warriors National Amputee Baseball Team.

LS Warriors Head Coach Curtis Pride played alongside Kimera while with the Detroit Tigers, while also playing in Caracas together.  While residing in Arizona during the MLB offseason, Kimera volunteered his time, experience, and knowledge to come out and coach first base for the LS Warriors during the MSBL Phoenix 30th Annual World Series.  It was an experience our team thoroughly enjoyed and learned from.  God Bless Kimera Bartee and may he rest in peace.”
