Dan Smallacombe Nabs MSBL ‘Player of the Week’ Honors

Editor’s Note: MSBL is not limited to honoring only one ‘Player of the Week.’  We are privileged to name multiple players whenever applicable. Our goal is to throw the spotlight on as many players as possible. Thank you!

The Southington Navigators of the Connecticut North MSBL nominate Dan Smallacombe, who pitched against the Collinville RiverRats on May 12th in a rematch of last year’s championship series. He threw a 7-inning complete game, gave up four hits, four walks, and only one run while striking out 11. Dan’s ERA so far this year stands at 0.70.

He only allowed a solo homer in the top of the 7th to break a 0-0 tie, but then came back in the bottom of the 7th with a bases-loaded walk-off infield single to end it and give the Navigators a 2-1 win.
