East Peoria, IL – The oldest amateur baseball league in America is kicking off its historic 110th season with a special banquet on June 6th at Par-A-Dice Hotel in East Peoria.  This event promises to be a special evening to celebrate the League’s history and the start of season #110.

It will be a memorable night for all baseball fans.  For the first time in history, Eureka’s very own Ben Zobrist will be serving as the keynote speaker at a Sunday Morning League Banquet.

Established in 1916, the Peoria Sunday Morning League was developed as an outlet for local businesses to provide high-level athletic competition for their workers.  As the League has evolved over the past century, it still maintains its historical roots with local teams and players being sponsored by local businesses.

Now in its 110th season, the Sunday Morning League is the oldest amateur baseball league in America.  The PSML has featured over 45 players who have played in the Major Leagues – most notably the National Baseball Hall of Famer, Jim Thome, who played in the PSML from 1987-1989.  The League President is Zach Skulte.  The League Commissioner is Doug McCarty.  The Commissioner of Umpires is Mike Wise.  Senior League Advisor is Tim Cundiff.
