Bay Area Player Julian Vigay Needs Your Help After Hit and Run Accident

Submitted by Jim Frenn, Bay Area MSBL League President

Julian Vigay plays ball with the 35+ Oaks. He is new to the BAMSBL having formally played in Tri-Valley MSBL and on several tournament teams. He has a deep love and respect for the game that showed from the moment he stepped foot on the field, and with his brother John has brought new life, hope, and baseball joy to the Oaks.

Julian was riding his motorcycle on the freeway to the Oaks BAMSBL season opener, when he was struck from behind by a hit and run driver and hurled to the ground. Although he has no recollection of it, amazingly Julian jumped up from the pavement, moments before he was struck again by a second car. His friends were able to rush to his aid and perform CPR before the paramedics arrived, who then continued until they got him to the hospital. The trauma team amplified those efforts, refusing to give up, and miraculously Julian was brought back to life.

The Oaks manager Craig Bevan spoke to Julian last week. He is grateful to be alive, humbled by the support and care he has received and wants to give back. He is a kind and remarkable human being. His one personal goal is to take the field again, to show others who are going through similar battles that with effort and courage, anything is possible. The Oaks has started a GoFundMe page to help with Julian’s extensive medical bills. Won’t you please contribute to his fund at https://gofund.me/9ff48539, and support Julian’s road back to playing baseball.
