I wanted to provide you with some material from our recent youth clinic and all-star event we hosted.  Below is a high-level summary of the events, along with some key highlights.

Events

Alamo Amateur Baseball Foundation (AABF) Youth (5-17) Skills Clinic

Alamo MSBL Charity All-Star Game

When

Saturday, September 6th, 2025

Event Summary

  1. 1AABF, in partnership with Town and Country Optimist Little League of San Antonio (TCOLL), hosted a free baseball youth skills clinic for local amateurs aged 5-17.  The event was aimed at providing the opportunity for Alamo MSBL players to mentor and develop youth baseball players from TCOLL and other surrounding San Antonio Little Leagues.  Alamo MSBL coaches and players included nine dedicated volunteers as the skill coaches.
  2. The Alamo MSBL players hosted a charity fundraising drive during the summer to raise funds for TCOLL and the Hill Country Flood Victims Assistance.  All proceeds from the charity fundraiser are being split 50-50 between the two causes.  Players had the opportunity to raise funds, and the player from each team who raised the most was selected as the fourth member from each team for the All-Star Game.  The Inaugural Alamo MSBL All-Star Game was a mix of 18+ and 28+ teams, managed by the 18+ and 28+ Champions from the regular season.

Key Highlights

  1. The Youth Clinic had 45 kids attend and participate in drills that focused on hitting, defense, pitching/catching, throwing, and baserunning.
  2. The Youth Clinic was supported by ex-professional baseball players Edgar Wilson and Reds 2023 Hall of Fame Inductee Danny Graves.  A big thank you from the AABF and Alamo MSBL to Ed and Danny for providing their time, experience, and generosity to the camp members with their insight, autographs, and pictures.
  3. The Youth Clinic included support from the Padres AA Affiliate San Antonio Missions with a visit from ‘Ballapeno’ who took pictures with all age groups and the staff.
  4. Special thanks to the following Alamo MSBL members who volunteered:  Bryan Wyatt, John and Bryce Sorbel, Sean Miller, JR Volyes, Rob Tolar, Jesus Flores, Drew Flores, Michael Camarillo, and Roy Reina.
  5. TCOLL provided a great partnership, opening their fields and space for local vendors to set up booths and provide participants and their families an enjoyable Saturday event.
  6. Alamo MSBL raised nearly $1,900 for the AABF to donate to TCOLL and those impacted by the July 2025 Texas Hill Country floods.
