Doug Duell Throws ‘Perfecto’ for Yankees in Capital District (NY) 55+ Division

Yankees 10, Americans 0

May 19, 2026-It was a beautiful night for baseball, as the 55+ Yankees and Americans squared off at the A Diamond. The night was all about DOUG DUELL! Duell was having a game for the ages, a perfect game through the first four innings!

It was hot and humid. Doug came up to me between innings and said he never had a no-hitter. Of course, I had to say, “YOU CAN’T SAY THAT!”  While everyone stayed away from Doug, not saying a word, I wasn’t going to tell him it wasn’t just a no-hitter, it was a perfecto!

Doug told me that if someone got on base, then we could make a pitching switch.  I told him to just keep doing what he was doing and not worry about it.

Doug ended the night with five Ks and three 1-3 put outs, one where he made a diving snag that was going up the middle for a hit, while throwing face down from his stomach to first base for the out.

He recorded over half the outs of the game himself! We ended up with a run ruling, so he went five innings to a PERFECT GAME! Congrats, brother. That’s an amazing accomplishment! Yanks win 10-0.
