World Series Veteran Bob Sherwin Comes to You with a Special Plea for ALS Contributions

To friends, family, colleagues, & fellow baseball players:

Bob Sherwin-I am once again reaching out to you for support in my quest to find a cure for ALS. For the fourth year in a row, I am raising money on behalf of the Live Like Lou Foundation in partnership with Phi Delta Theta and its Iron Phi program.

As you know, I became an Iron Phi in 2022 when I did my first Iron Phi event, bike riding 73 miles to honor my mom, who died of ALS at 73. Now, as I’m about to turn 77, I’m doing event #4, which will consist of throwing 1925 pitches in the Men’s Senior Baseball World Series, which starts in less than two weeks in Arizona.

I’ll be playing three weeks in different age groups and defending national titles in three divisions (65+, 70+, and 73+). Most of my pitches will be in the bullpen, but some will be on the mound in games. I will dazzle the opposition with my fastball, slider, curve, and changeup, all of which travel at generally the same speed! Why 1925 pitches? Lou Gehrig began his consecutive game streak in 1925!

As the #1 fundraiser nationally for the Live Like Lou Foundation, my goal is to keep going until there is headway in finding a cure for ALS.

The Live Like Lou Foundation partners with Phi Delta Theta Iron Phi’s program, and the money raised goes to ALS research and to aid families stricken by this horrible disease.

Many of you have contributed generously since I began this campaign, and I am eternally grateful. If you can’t do it this year, I totally understand and still thank you for your support.
