2024 73+ National
Minnesota Bandits 10, MBI 5
Submitted by Frank Hanford, Bandits’ manager
Behind eight strong innings from starter John Arnold and Mike Tricker’s close, the Minnesota Bandits beat MBI 10-5 to win the 73 National Division Championship at the 2024 MSBL World Series.
The Bandits pulled away with a five run sixth inning, which included a clutch hit by outfielder Johnny Lane. Lane went 2-2, was on base four times, and was given the team trophy.
MBI scored three runs in the top of the ninth to close strong but it wasn’t enough. Alan Arthur had three hits for the Bandits while Bob Britz, Billy Mitchell, John Pepin, and Roger Johnson had two hits each. This was the first year the Bandits participated in the 73 Division.
