North County Waves 18, The Hitmen 4

The Waves hit .455 as a team for the five games played. They were led in hitting by Doug Thigpen at .692 and Billy Ferran close behind at .638.  They both created havoc on the base paths all tournament. Ferran also played flawless defense throughout each game.

Rick Converse, Jeff Johnson, Mark Maus, and Bones Knartzen all pitched well when called upon. In the Championship game, Ernie Webster threw six innings, gave up three runs, one earned, and also struck out 10 batters.  He also went 5 for 5 at the plate with one double and four singles.

This was a total team effort, as the guys played well despite the 100+ temperature and humidity each game. Also, a special thanks to Tony Frescura for helping me put this team together!
