Boston Cardinals 6, New York Blazers 3

The Boston Cardinals defeated the NY Blazers by a score of 6-3 in the championship game of the 2022 American Division 30+ MSBL Holiday Classic in Viera Fl. The Cards posted a 1-1-1 record through the round-robin portion of the tourney facing tough competition such as the Delray Nationals (National Division Champs), Coral Gable A’s, and the US Elite team. The Boston Cards then faced an always tough EC Cardinals team and were able to get the victory with a score of 4-3 to reach the finals.

In the Championship game, the Cards were led by veteran pitcher Juan “the Samurai” Mendoza who allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits with nine strikeouts in a complete-game effort. Throughout the tournament, both solid offensive and defensive plays were displayed by the Boston Cards from such players as Josue Feliciano, Jose German, Vic Arroyo (Tournament Team MVP), Joseph Gautier, and many more.

With a roster equal the size of almost a football team, each Boston Cards roster member played a huge role in the winning of the American Division Championship. As usual, MSBL did not disappoint and put on both a quality and competitive tournament. Hats off to Gary, Steve, and the crew at MSBL National and can’t wait to return next year to play against these quality teams again.
