Jacob Cruz threw a complete game shutout and used only 100 pitches to earn the win and the championship victory!
In the bottom of the first inning, Alex Gascon laced a rbi single to score Andres Rios to make 1-0.
The score stayed at 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth when Blaise Inman reached on an error and Fernando Dominguez laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt, moving Inman to second base. Oscar Sanay then punched a base hit, moving Inman to third.
Bradley Roberto then hit a groundball to first while Sanay was stealing.
The Ray’s first baseman threw late to second base and the shortstop relay was late to first, too. Inman was able to score on the play, making it 2-0. Andres Rios then stroked a single, scoring Sanay to make it 3-0 after five innings.
In the bottom of the eighth Bradley Roberto hit a home run to make it 4-0, which ended the scoring and sealed the victory. This is only the Sueno’s second tournament ever, as the team was formed in October 2020.
