‘Greg Werre Shines in 9-inning Complete Game to Seal Perfect 18-0 Season for Rainier Emeralds in 60+ Puget Sound Rainier Division’

August 28, 2026—Ace pitcher Greg Werre, member of the 2024 Puget Sound Hall of Fame class, delivered an absolute gem on Thursday night at Bannerwood Park, tossing a complete-game masterpiece to lead the Rainier Emeralds to a commanding 15-3 victory over the Steelheads. The win officially caps off an unblemished 18-0 regular season for the Emeralds, solidifying their position at the top of the PSSBL 60+ Rainier Division standings.

Werre was in total control from start to finish, going the full nine innings while scattering nine hits and allowing three runs, none of which were earned. Displaying his signature pinpoint control, Werre struck out 10 batters and issued just a single walk over 39 batters faced.

With this dominant finale, Werre completed his personal regular-season record at a flawless 12-0. He finished the summer campaign with a sparkling 1.53 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts across 82.1 innings pitched.
