‘Bees Cop Fourth Kickoff Classic Title in a Row’
Submitted by Randy Miles, manager

Going 3–0 in pool play and getting the bye was the key to winning the 60+ division. We had some tough pool play and some high-scoring games that used up a lot of pitching. Despite the final scores, the Bees’ games were competitive until the end, beating the Mustangs 10-4, the 3N2 Rangers 23-13, and then Las Vegas 20-6.
In the Final, after the Mustangs defeated the 3n2 Rangers earlier Monday morning, 9-3, we started Neil Warner at pitching, who only threw two innings versus the Mustangs on Saturday. Neil was pitching great, giving up only two earned runs through four innings with the Bees up 7 to 3.
In the fifth inning, the Mustangs started to rally, scoring two runs to make the score 7-5, and had the bases loaded with no outs. So, we made a pitching change with our new addition, Ken Dallemollie, who came in and got an infield fly and then an inning-ending double play. The game shifted when we scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth, boosting our lead to 12-5. The game was long and went the entire 3:30 time limit.
Pitching MVP was Ken Dallemollie, who allowed 0 runs through the final four innings. Batting stars were Brady Field, Allen Zentgraf, and Brad Hill, who all went 3-5. Randy Miles, Dave Carter, Dave McCuistion, and Brett Blackburn also contributed with two hits each.
Tourney MVP was Neil Warner, who batted .750 and pitched six solid innings. The Bees had nine players who hit .500 or better for the tourney. As a team, the Bees batted .513 with an on-base percentage of .620.
Fun Fact: Catcher/Ball Magnet, Phil Young was hit by a pitch five times in 16 plate appearances!
