‘Mustangs Three-peat at 2026 Las Vegas Open’

Behind the great pitching of Mark Gleason, Wilson Reyes, and George Vazquez, the team went undefeated through the round robin. Then Andy Conde pitched a semifinal win, and Izzy Salaberrios pitched the championship 12-0 shutout win. All players on the roster had OPS’s from .375 to .769.

In the final game, Andy Conde hit a home run, and Izzy Salaberrios, Mike Burton, Spencer Headley, and Darryl Lindsay had two hits apiece.

Besides the bats, several players brought their gloves. Ernie Lujan, Ralph Rodriguez, Duane Welty, Dan Emory, Jeff Newman, Tomas Rodriguez, and Dave Kaufmann anchored the defense, as we played the whole weekend with only two errors. Mike Burton was named team MVP for the tournament.

Another great weather MSBL weekend tournament in Vegas ended with the 55 Mustangs on top for the third year in a row. It was a total team effort as usual for the Mustangs. In the round robin, we were challenged by the Fresno Knights. And, they met up with us again in the championship game.

For the most part, the championship game featured some tight innings, except for one inning in which the Mustangs scored eight runs to put the game out of reach.
