2025 MSBL World Series Profile: Chuck Person, NSEW Connection

Compiled by Steve LaMontia-Carlentini, MSBL Director of Communications

Chuck Person and his team, NSEW Connection, are gearing up for another run in the 50+ Cactus Division at this year’s MSBL World Series. Chuck will be pulling double duty by managing and playing with NSEW Connection, and also playing with another team during the tournament.

Chuck has been part of the MSBL community for five years. His introduction came when he joined a team of players who weren’t yet on a roster for the World Series. That experience not only ignited his passion for the league but also led him and Brian Penn to establish NSEW Connection.2025 World Series logo, Tempe, Arizona.

Since then, he has played in five World Series tournaments and helped his team capture two championships, the 2022 MSBL World Series and the 2023 Las Vegas Open. “I enjoy playing with the team each year as we have great camaraderie,” Chuck shared. “Winning the World Series championship was a pretty good moment.”

A retired U.S. Navy veteran, Chuck now works at D-Bats in Arizona, a role he truly enjoys. “Honestly, it doesn’t even feel like work. I love it.” Away from the ballfield, he lives in Arizona with his wife and their two spoiled dogs. He also has two married children – one living locally in Phoenix and the other abroad in Europe.

Chuck plays in the Arizona MSBL when not traveling for tournaments, crediting the league with helping him stay sharp. “It keeps me in good physical condition. Also, mentally, I’m always focused on the mechanics of the game. It allows me to stay active with the guys through practices and the great competition of tournaments.”Baseball team huddling on the field.

Looking ahead, Chuck’s plans for NSEW Connection are straightforward, as they will continue to compete and enjoy the game that has brought him so much fulfillment.
