2025 Father/Son Desert

This was our first year playing in the Father/Son division of the MSBL World Series, and honestly, we didn’t quite know what to expect. Some of us were excited, others were nervous, wondering if we could still keep up with our kids.

Then, after the very first inning of the very first game, I overheard one of the dads fighting back tears as he said, “I can’t believe I get to share the diamond with my boy… “

This incredible group of dads has been coming to the MBSL World Series for over 15 years. Some of us were lucky enough to win a ring together back in 2009, and ever since that day, we’ve been chasing that feeling again, year after year, tournament after tournament, and having a collection of second and third-place shirts we often refer to as ‘Winning the Polyester.’

In our very first season playing alongside our sons and daughter, we did it!  We won the elusive championship ring together, losing only one game all week.

As fathers and kids, arms around each other, crying and laughing on that field, we knew we would remember it for a lifetime.  What an unbelievable, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime gift.
