Sacramento Tribe 16, Philadelphia Phillies 4

The Sacramento Tribe won the 70+ Division of the MSBL Kickoff Classic in Las Vegas with a 16-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in the Championship game. Our Winning pitcher was Gary Stonebrook, who went the distance. Steve Brye was 3 for 3 with two doubles and four RBIs.

Tommy Arguijo and Gary Huizar hit consistently all tournament, totaling nine hits apiece.  This victory represents a three-peat for the Tribe in the Kickoff Classic.

“I know they don’t give out an MVP in this tournament, but Gary Stonebrook and Steve Brye were my Co-MVPs,” said manager Pat Kelly. “Also, our catcher, Gilbert Banuelos, had a very good tournament at the plate with eight hits and was on base 13 times.”
