2024 60+ Cactus
North County Waves 19, South Bay Zephyrs 1

The North County Waves 60 Cactus team went 5-1 in pool play. They were led in hitting by Jeff Johnson .621, Mike Williams .613, and Ernie Webster at .586, who had six doubles in the tournament. Bill Locken played exceptional defense and the team turned 14 double plays during the week. Ricky Convertino threw out six would-be base runners from behind the plate and hit .357.
In the quarter-finals, Rick Converse threw a 9-inning gem and gave up one run in a 3-1 victory. In the semis, Ernie Webster avenged an earlier loss to the Waikiki Beach Boys, beating them 12-4 and throwing all nine innings.
In the championship game, Jeff Johnson threw seven shutout innings and was named the team MVP. Johnson threw a total of 14 innings, gave up one run, hit .621, and had a home run.
The Waves would like to recognize former North County League President Doug Johnson for all his contributions to the league throughout the years.
