Waikiki Beach Boys 8, North County Waves 5

The 55-over Waikiki Beach Boys celebrated undefeated round-robin play with a bye into the championship game in the Beat the Heat Labor Day Tournament in Irvine, California.

“We got great pitching from Luis Parra and Ernie Perez, along with the entire staff,” stated manager Gary Firestone.  “Angel Gomez led everyone in the championship with his four hits.  It was a satisfying tournament, as everyone got to play multiple innings and everyone contributed.  Our defense made maybe two errors all tournament.”
