Yonder Travelers 5, Puerto Rico Dodgers 2

The Yonder Travelers were triumphant over Puerto Rico Dodgers 5-2 on November 16th to win the MSBL Fall Classic 50+ National Division title. Yonder Travelers were the first to get on the board in the third when Raphael Hernandez singled, scoring one run.

Fall Classic Baseball 2024 logoDan Kopitzke earned the win for the Yonder Travelers, as the starting pitcher surrendered 12 hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out three and walking six.

#10 took the loss for the Puerto Rico Dodgers.  The 50+ Yonder Travelers piled up 10 hits in the game, with Dave Dow leading Yonder with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. Dow went 1-for-4 on the day.

Darwin Hernandez and Frank Chandler each collected two hits for the Yonder Travelers. Kopitzke paced the Travelers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game, while Hernandez stole five bases.

The Yonder Travelers stole 10 bases in the game and defensively turned two double plays. The Yonder Travelers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
