‘Nuts Go Back-to-Back’

Winning back-to-back championships was not easy but this team made it look pretty easy. There was lots of great competition this year and we have tons of respect for our championship game opponent, the BBQ Forkballers. I think the reason it seemed so easy was this was by far the most selfless team I have ever been a part of. Our team was a really solid ball club from top to bottom!

At the top leading off was Ray Varela. He is our spark plug. Then you have Nick Criswell’s bat and his sprinter speed followed by the ‘Big Cat’ Mark Avila knocking them in. If Mark didn’t get the job done, you had Steve Gonzales cleaning it up with Loomis, Nichols, and Depew waiting to drive in the remaining ducks.

Eric Rivas, Pablo Garcia, and Phil Gonzales pinched in with the high run totals we put up during the week. Our pitching was sensational with Bryan Thissen, Dustin Fagundes, David Geiger, and Anthony Jones.

Then you had Manny Fagundes pitch pivotal innings in the last round-robin game to get us into the Mountain division playoffs. Loomis contributed some pivotal innings as well.

Overall, this team was really fun, meshed well, and was overwhelmingly selfless!
