The South Florida Cubs had a solid run during the MSBL Fall Classic 35+ division. We finished pool play with record of 1-4 but only allowed 34 runs in five
games, which put the Cubs as the #10 seed. The SFL Cubs beat the Chesapeake Groundhogs in the American Division semifinal by a final score of 11-4. We were led by strong pitching from starter Sean Hall and even better relief pitching from Ronny Arteaga and Pablo Fernandez.
In the Championship game, starter Luis Negron pitched six solid innings and SFL Cubs MVP, Jose Garcia, had a great day at the plate with three hits and driving in four runs. I need to thank Anthony Shinhoster for managing the championship game for me as I had a prior commitment.
This is the third American Division Championship for the SFL Cubs in the last five years, winning in 2020, 2022, and 2024.
