‘Chaboudy Posts Magical Week at the Plate and On the Bump’

The Cal Vets #1 team successfully defended its MSBL 2023 Desert Division 65+ ‘Champions’ title.

After losing the first game, 7-6 to the Seattle Mariners, the Cal Vets team came back strong and won the next four pool games and the first playoff game to be able to defend its 2022 title in the 2023 Championship game versus the #1 seed Seattle Mariners.

In a competitive and well-deserved rematch with the Mariners, the Cal Vets #1 team prevailed and beat the Mariners in the Championship game 13-7.

The Cal Vets #1 team benefited from great pitching, very good hitting, and generally solid defense.

As manager, I named Rusty Chaboudy our ‘MVP’.  He pitched us to three victories, including the Championship game and he batted .480 and led the team in hits, runs, and RBIs.

While many of our team’s players are over 70 years of age, it is our intent to return to the 2024 MSBL World Series and again defend our Desert Division 65+ ‘Champions’ title.
