60 Maxx Cubs 8, Motor City Firebirds 3

The Maxx Cubs organization has won two 55’s rings and two 60’s in the last four years!

In the 2022 edition of the MSBL World Series, the 60 Maxx Cubs defeated the undefeated Motor City Firebirds by a score of 8-3 to win the 2022 Cactus Division  Championship Game.  The Cubs were led by the strong pitching performance of Alden Stiefel.  Alden pitched a complete game while striking out six and walking only one batter. The Cubs ace got stronger in the late innings while only allowing two baserunners after the fifth inning.

The Cubs’ leadoff man, Kenny Lee was the catalyst by getting on base four times and stealing three bases, while cleanup man Neil Cooper had three hits. Mike Tiegs provided a big two-out, two-RBI hit in the fifth inning to give the Cubs a 3-2 lead. The Cubs broke the game open in the top of the eighth inning by scoring four runs with big RBI hits from Rick Wilson and Dave Czosek.

“We could not have won the Championships without our dedicated mascot Skye Bleu,” added manager Alden Stiefel.
