2022 60+ American

Rhode Island Salty Dogs 8, Orlando Royals 7

It took a total team effort to beat the Orlando Royals and clinch the 60+ American Division championship.

We had some fine pitching by starting pitcher Tony Catalano and reliever Jim Keenan, as they continued to fight off a very talented Royals team.

Getting to the big game was helped by key-hitting by Darryl Morehardt, Pete Moran, Steve Schneck, and Richie Figueroa, who also had a great day at the plate in the finals.

Jim Pollach threw masterfully in the semi-finals by giving up only five hits and two runs.

Newcomers Mike ‘Doc’ April and Willy Washington were welcome additions and did a great job. Ramon Nunez caught every inning and was selected as the team MVP for the tournament.

The Dogs are looking forward to defending the 60’s championship at the 2023 Fall Classic!
