2022 55+ Cactus
Chicago Maxx Cubs 24, 3n2 Rangers 9
Submitted by Alden Stiefel, Cubs manager
The 55+ Cactus Chicago Maxx Cubs won their second World Series in the last four years by defeating a tough 3N2 Rangers team, 24-9. The Cubs came out strong taking a 13-0 lead after five innings. The Rangers stormed back by scoring eight runs in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 13-8.
Cubs ace Brett Graves had to come in relief and put out the Rangers’ rally after pitching a complete game the day before to vault the Cubs into the Championship game.
The Cubs’ offense was led by lead-off man Karl Falkstrom, who had four hits including a home run. Many other Cubs had big offensive days, including Greg Dennis, Javier Renya, Rob Alberghini, and Bill Dew. It was a total team effort that brought the Cubs another Championship.
