‘Boeckenstedt Tosses Four-hit Complete Game Shutout’

Brad (Boeckenstedt) had the ability to throw strikes with every pitch that he had today, ” said Reds’ manager Andy Vazquez.  “He only faced 33 hitters in nine innings, and probably 80 percent were first-pitch strikes. He was pitching ahead and forcing swings. Very Impressive. He is our MVP!

The Reds scored eight runs on 13 hits, led by leadoff hitter John Dragos who started the game with a triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly. Joe Russo and Mike Lobosco had three hits apiece.  They slashed the ball all week, along with Dragos, Jim Adams, and Danny Acevedo.

This was the NJ Reds 21st year competing in the Fall Classic Tournament!
