Sacramento Royals 14, Las Vegas 60’s 3

The Royals from Sacramento defeated the Las Vegas 60s 14-3 in the championship game to finish the tournament undefeated. Team pitching, defense and hitting was outstanding.

Bob Larson pitched and completed the first game while Tim Burkitt and Steve Pepi combined to pitch a shutout the second game.  Taylor Welz pitched the third game, getting the team into the playoffs as the number one seed.

Ross McGehee pitched the semi-final and Gary Stonebrook completed the five-game sweep in the championship.  Not surprisingly, Steve Welch caught all five games.

Rounding out the roster were Dave Everingham, Mark Weathers, Bob Brown, Rob Ericsson, John Daly, Darryll Foster, Mark Shillingburg, and Phil Adams. The defense played virtually errorless ball all weekend and the team hit well up and down the roster. Manager Jim Tygrett- DeNuzzi just sat back and let em’ play!
