  • MSBL April Managers of the Month: Ken Barnowski and Vern Scott

Submitted by Mike Juliano, Detroit MSBL League President

Ken Barnowski has been a manager and player for 20 years in Detroit and for most of those years he has managed two teams, one each in the 35-over division and 45-over division.  While doing that he is also playing alongside the 18-over members.  This year he will take over the role of managing again in the 55-over division.

Ken is one of the most organized managers that I deal with.  Everything is always in order, rosters are current, waivers are signed and most importantly payments are always on time.

Ken is a great manager to play for and that is evidenced by him not having a lot of change from year to year and one of the big reasons he is a member of the Detroit MSBL Hall of Fame, class of 2011.  He is a perfect example of what the MSBL is all about.

Vern Scott is the 61 year old manager of the Denver Bears and is the longest running coach in the League.  He began his Denver career in 1989 and his two championships were 20 years apart. He continues to be a loyal and trusted manager and player in the league. He recently retired as a Captain of the Denver Fire Department and enjoys golfing and running his recently crowned 25 + Denver MSBL Championship team.
