Find a League In Your Area

Dick Giberti, a Sonoma County, Calif., vintner, couldn’t have wished for a happier 80th birthday with a pitching victory for the Jazz of the 63+ Redwood Empire Baseball League.
Giberti, known as "Slick” to his many baseball friends, had a shutout through five innings
against the Blues before tiring in the sixth and giving up three runs
and handing the ball to reliever Paul Johnson in the 24-5 victory. The win actually came on the eve of his birthday,
which was on July 31.
Giberti, a retired
engineer who worked on NASA’s Apollo project, owns a 3-0 record and a
4.05 earned run average for the Jazz (13-0). He is one of five pitchers
on the REBL powerhouse.
Giberti has helped himself and his pitching buddies at bat with a .500 average, going 17 for 34.
Slick has entered
teams in the Arizona MSBL World Series several years under the "Ports” banner. While he can’t wait for an 80+ division, he will sponsor a 65+
team again in October and also plans to be
pitching in the 70- and 74-age divisions.
