San Antonio MSBL, 45+ Division

San Antonio Bombers 15, San Antonio Lonestars 6

Submitted by Jack Held, Bombers manager

Due to the Pandemic the SATXMSBL only had one season this spring and summer combined. League President Phil Galloway did an outstanding job of sourcing fields throughout the season as many San Antonio Parks were closed due to the China Virus.

The 45+ championship game was played Sunday Sept 27th in Blanco, TX and the San Antonio Bombers prevailed over the San Antonio Lonestar’s 15-6.

The Bombers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning thanks to a two-run double by Sean Miller and a two-run home run from Dave Oliver.  The Lonestar’s came back and scored five runs in the third to take a 5-4 lead.  The Bombers scored five runs in the fourth inning and five more in the sixth to put the game away.

Jerry Spencer pitched four solid innings and Mike Smith finished the game in relief to get the win.  Defensively the Bombers were led by second baseman Bryan Wyatt as he made several outstanding plays.

Leading hitters for the Bombers with two hits each were Sean Miller, Eddie Calzoncit, Dave Oliver and Jerry Spencer.
