‘Chicago North MSBL Rippers Go Back-to-Back’

The Rippers were led at the plate by Mike Kuta, Juan Medina, Matt Young, Juan Senreiso, Joba Ferrell and Javier Gamboa.  They were also led on the mound by Tournament MVP Felix Santiago, 2-0 17IP 19K 4BB .52 ERA, Shawn Blackwell, 1-0 8IP 6H 10K and Josh Downing, 1-0 11.1IP 6H 9K

We finished pool play 2-2-1 entering the playoffs as the sixth seed and defeated Venice Gaze 7-1 in the semi-finals and the Columbus Pirates 19-4 in the Championship Game

We started off hot in day one going 2-0 and then in day two we went 0-1-1, losing to a tough Tampa Yankees team and in the night cap blowing a ten-run lead in the ninth and ended up tying Venice, 12-12.  Fortunately, we got our revenge in the semi-finals.

The Rippers featured 33 players and a deep pitching staff of 17 arms to help get us through pool play and the playoffs.  It was also a total team coaching effort.  I want to thank Mike Martin , David Glutz and Auggie Morado for helping us out the entire week.

In 2021 we will enter a 25+ and our first year entering a 35+ team.
